Manuscript Features

The MS is not dated, but on palaeographical grounds it can be assumed to have been written hardly later than the 13th c. It may even have been prepared in the 12th c.

Some of the folios are partly rubbed off and hardly legible.

The letter-numerals used in the MS run as follows: pka (4), te (9), to (10), to/dvi (12), to/tri (13), to/pka (14), to/hya (15), to/u (18), to/te (19), thaṃ (20), thaṃ/e (21), thaṃ/hya (25), thaṃ/? (27), la (30), la/dvi (32), la/tri (33), la/pka (34), la/hya (35) and la/bhra (36). With just one exception the sequence of stanzas commented on in this MS coincides with the one in Wilson’s editio princeps. The exception concerns stanzas 104 and 105, which in Wilson’s edition appear in reverse order. Up to stanza 103 the sequence coincides with the one of the Tibetan translation of the Meghadūta as well.<ref>Cf. Hultzsch 1998, pp. xxiii–xxvii.</ref>
