Manuscript Features

This MS consists of five parts (i–v), which each consist of different portions of the Siddhāntakaumudī. In the top of the left-hand margin, each folio bears the abbreviation si °kau ° for Siddhāntakaumudī, followed by another akṣara standing for the respective portion of the text. Thus, the five parts bear the abbreviations (si °kau °) ta ° (for taddhita), sa ° (for samāsa), su ° (for subanta (?), covering chapters/prakaraṇa-s one to fourteen of the SK), strī ° (for strīpratyaya), and ° (for kāraka). The following excerpts give the beginning and end of each of the five portions:

Thus, according to the arrangement of the Siddhāntakaumudī, the original order of the five parts of this MS was iii, iv, v, ii, i.

A few folios are slightly damaged.

In the margins (or top/bottom) of some folios, the scribe has written glosses on some words or portions of the text. The word/portion to be glossed is marked with a short double stroke (=) above the respective word/portion.
