Manuscript Features

This reel number has been mentioned as a MTM giving two titles (the Gītagovinda and Gaṅgāṣṭaka) in the Preliminary Title List. But, the MS does not contain two different titles. The colophon of the text states that the title of the text is the Gītagovindagaṅgāṣṭaka. The author (probably someone other than the Jayadeva) added some texts relating to or describing the Gaṅgā. This is a well-known epic of Jayadeva and we usually find the Gītagovinda as a title of the text.
