Original data from the title card

The information in this box goes back to the time of filming of a manuscript by the NGMPP. Basic information was noted on a card and photographed before a session, typically photographing of a manuscript. The cards became a sort of an index card and the information in them were eventually made into electronic form. It has been the primary way to identify a manuscript for decades.
