This MS comprises parts of the Bhāṣāvṛtti, Puruṣottamadeva's commentary on Pāṇini's Aṣṭādhyāyī.
Nearly all fols. (save two) are damaged in various degrees. Sometimes the writing has been rubbed off, very often parts of the individual folios have been lost. The damage can be evaluated like this: some 40 per cent of the folios are damaged 20 per cent or less; some 50 per cent of the folios are damaged 30 to 40 per cent; some 10 per cent of the folios are damaged 50 per cent or more.
The text covered by the extant folios runs from Pāṇ. Sūtra 6.3.71 (exp. 43 below) to 8.3.84 (exp. 90 below). Many folios are, however, missing in between.
The original order of the folios being completely lost, exposure 3 shows the commentary on Pāṇ. Sūtra 7.4.23-27.
About half of the original MS has been lost altogether, as can be guessed from the foliation (which is, however, only preserved on about half the folios). Thus, fol. 98v (exp. 44 above) includes 6.3.74-77, and fol. 189v (exp. 68 above) 8.3.75-79. Compared to the extent of the whole Bhāṣāvṛtti, it can be presumed that the original MS might have started with the commentary on the fourth Adhyāya.
Exposure 2 shows a folio on which the writing has been painted out; exp. 19 below shows the cover fol. indicating title and accession no. of the MS; exp. 68 below and exp. 69 above show a fol. of some other MS; exp. 91 shows a fol. with the writing completely rubbed off, probably fol. 190v, as well as a tiny fragment of this MS; exp. 92 shows the verso of this fragment and again a cover fol. with an inscription of the NAK, indicating title and accession no. of the MS.
The scribe sometimes writes sa for śa or ṣa, ṣa for sa, and ja for ya.
