Manuscript Features
Originally, this MS has been copied in a neatly written Maithili. However, as the writing had faded out considerably in many portions of the text, the original writing has been overwritten by a second hand. Sometimes the Maithili characters were correctly imitated, but in many instances the original text has been spoilt beyond recognition, as this second hand has overwritten the MS with Newari characters in a fairly whimsical and unintelligible manner. Fortunately, the greater part of the MS has remained unaffected by this overwriting, except fols. 1–6r and 225v–230v. Sometimes two consecutive folios have been numbered with the same folio number, viz. fols. 20; 63; 76–80; 105. Fol. 175 is missing.
There is one additional folio (exp. 3) giving a list of contents for fols. 1–224.
