Manuscript Features

Short title śārdūla in the upper left margin of the verso on each folio; guru in the lower right margin on the first two folios

The available folios (1-28) cover the text of pp. 611-636.14 of Cowell & Neil's edition of the Divyāvadāna, pp. 1-41 of Mukhopadhyaya's, and pp. 314-332.6 of Vaidya's.

The first two folios were written later by another person to supply the missing beginning. They are carefully written and the text corresponds with the printed editions very well. The succeeding folios (the original part of the ms) have many simple mistakes, but show interesting variant readings.

Cf. Mitra 1882, No. B.17 "Śārdūlakarṇa Avadāna" (1971, pp. 218-222)
