Manuscript Features

The text starts with an invocation to Gaṇeśa and is followed by a benedictory stanza, whereupon the purpose of the commentary is stated. Next one and a half verses of the root text to be commented are given, and then the commentary proper starts. The root text seems to come either from some Purāṇa or from some recension of the Mahābhārata, since the commentator addresses Kṛṣṇadvaipāyana(vyāsa) in the second stanza. The commentary is written in complex naiyāyika-style language with compounds and quotes from Purāṇas, the Mahābhārata and Upaniṣads.

There are two exposures of the fols. 9v–10r.
