Title Śabdārthacintāvivṛti

Author Ratnaśrījñāna (?)

Subject Vyākaraṇa

Language Sanskrit

Text Features The name of the author of this commentary is not explicitly mentioned in the preserved part of the MS. However, while explaining the term kartṛ‑ in his commentary on the Kāvyādarśa 2.228, Ratnaśrījñāna (9th–10th c.) refers to his own Śabdārthacintāvivṛti (see Thakur/Jha 1957, p. 143). Relying on this information, and because of the similarities of style, we can assume that this MS contains Ratnaśrījñāna’s commentary on the Śabdārthacintā, a hitherto unknown work by some unnamed ācārya.
