Manuscript Features

This MS originally comprised (at least) the first, second and third pāda of the first adhyāya. Each pāda begins with an invocation (śrīgaṇeśāya namaḥ) and has a foliation of its own. The extant parts are: fols. 1–10 (1.3.1–20); fols. 1–40 (1.2.1.–68); fols. 17–31 (1.1.12.–36) as well as eight more folios belonging to the first pāda. The last section, which contains parts of the first pāda, has come between fol. 15 (exp. 27 top) and 16 (exp. 50 bottom) of the second section (second pāda).

In the top of the left-hand margin of most versos the abbreviation kāśi (for Kāśikāvṛtti) has been written. In the bottom of the right-hand margin of the verso, above the foliation, the word nāthaḥ has been written on most folios.

Most folios are damaged at the upper margin. Thus, about a third of the first line of the verso (as well of the last line of the recto) is damaged.
