Manuscript Features

The commentary starts from the middle of Mahābhāṣya 1.2.3.73 (fol. 1v) and ends with 1.4.4.110 (fol. 82v). The last part of 1.3.1.1 up to the middle of 1.4.2.13 (fol. 43) is missing. From the last part of 1.4.2.13 up to the beginning of 1.4.2.19 is also lost. The text then continues from the last part of 1.4.2.19 (fol. 46r) up to 1.4.4.110 (fol. 82v).

There are two folios numbered 46 in the same hand. The first one is a running folio of this manuscript. The second one contains the commentary on Mahābhāṣya 1.2.3.64 (last part) to 1.2.3.68 (first part ).

In the upper left of fol. 55v the page number is given by mistake as 54, but in the lower right 55 is written.

The scribe uses another ink at the beginning of a word cited from the Mahābhāṣya to make it distinct.

Even though 1 is written at the bottom of the fol. 1v, the manuscript begins with the end of the second pāda of the first adhyāya and the start of the third pāda, which shows that the manuscript is not complete at the beginning. The upper left of the folio was eaten by an insect, so there is no page number there.

Above fol. 43r is a page inserted from another book. On this page is written: iti śrīraghuvaṃśe mahākāvye kālidāsakṛtau naṃdinīvarapradāno(!) nāmaḥ(!) dvitīyasargaḥ ||. In the lower right of the page there are two stamps of the Nepal Rastriya Pustakalaya, and many expressions like śrīgaṇeśāya namaḥ and śrīramaḥ appear elsewhere.
