Foliation Fols. 1–328: figures in the middle right-hand margin on the verso. The folio numbers 288 and 313 mistakenly have not been used, but the text is continuous. After fol. 328, foliation doesn’t appear in the middle right-hand margin. From fol. 230 a new foliation starts in the extreme lower right-hand margin. But from fol. 243, the second foliation is illegible in some folios. The second foliation is more erratic: sometimes it recommences at the beginning of an adhyāya, and sometimes runs on, and sometimes the foliation is out of order. The foliation cited throughout this catalogue entry refers to the number in the right-hand margin (the first foliation). Folios with no folio number are referred to by exposure number.

Manuscript Features

• Many corrections can be found in the margins of fols. 1–6.

• The middle part of five lines of fol. 110r are covered by a rectangular part of exp. 364. Thus, fols. 109v–110r have been re-microfilmed.

Fols. 201v–202r and 248v–249r are not clearly legible. A portion of fol. 202r is completely illegible. Likewise, some folios are quite dark; most, however, are clear.

• From the third line of fol. 230r, the MS is written by a different hand.

• On exp. 363 (which is foliated in the following way: the figure 3 is written in the upper left-hand margin under the abbreviation go. and again in the lower right-hand margin under the abbreviation pi.) and 364 (the recto of the folio on the previous exposure) are written one complete verse and two incomplete verses from the Śrīmadbhāgavatamahāpurāṇa (31st adhyāya of Daśamaskandha which is commonly known as gopīgītam). The text is as follows:

na khalu gopikānandano bhavān akhilade⟪.i⟫[[hi]]nām aṃtarātmadṛk || viṣa(!)nasārthi(exp. 363)to viśvaguptaye sakha udeyivān sāttva(!)ttāṃ(!)kule || 4 ||

• After the colophon of the text (on exp. 361b) follows a [mahā]bhārataśravaṇavidhi, opening with a maṅgalācaraṇa and ending with a colophon, consisting of six and a half lines, which describes pratiṣṭhā after hearing a Purāṇa. The text is as follows:

atha purāṇaśravaṇā(!)ntaraṃ pratiṣṭhā || sūryyārghadānaṃ gaṇapativyāsasarasvatīviṣṇupurāṇabhavānīviśvanāthapūjanaṃ pañcopacāranaivedyavastrādinā kṛtva(!) gobhūhiraṇyādidānena vācakabrāhmaṇaṃ paritoṣayet | … bhojyāni ca dadyāt || iti bhārataśravaṇavidhiḥ || ||

upanayatu ma[[ṅ]]galaṃ vaḥ sakalajaganma[[ṅ]]galālayaśrīmā(!) | dinakarakiraṇavibodhitanavanalinani(!)nibhekṣaṇaḥ ||

• Fols. 9 and 10 are in reverse order. There are two exposures of fols. 109v–110r, 155v–158r, 160v–161r and 180v–181r.
