Manuscript Features

The MS contains theTīrthayātrā(upa)parva and Gadā(upa)parva. The text starts from the 29^th adhyāya and runs up to the end of 64^th adhyāya of the Śalyaparva (Poona edition). These adhyāyas are here numbered from 1 to 36. The Tīrthayātrā(upa)parva runs up to the end of the 25^th adhyāya, which describes the religious (tīrthayātrā) journey of Balarāma (on fol. 55v), and the Gadā(upa)parva starts from the 26^th adhyāya (on fol. 55v) and runs up to the end of the 36^th adhyāya , which describes the war (gadā war) between Bhīma and Duryodhana (on fol. 78v).

hateṣu sarvvasainyeṣu, pāṇḍuputrai raṇājire, |

mama sainyāvaśiṣṭās te, kim akurvvata sañjaya ||

kṛtavarmā kṛpaś caiva, droṇaputraś ca vīryya⟨vāṃ⟩vān, |

duryodhanaś ca mandātmā rājā kim akarot tadā ||      ||

saṃprādravatsu dāreṣu, kṣatriyāṇām matmanām |
