Manuscript Features
Originally, this MS consisted of two parts, i.e. the pūrvārdha of the Vājasaneyisaṃhitā (adhy. 1–20) and the uttarārdha (adhy. 21–40), each having a foliation of its own. Now, the folios are somewhat out of order, that is, first comes the latter part of the pūrvārdha (adhy. 12.16 ff.), being followed by the beginning of the uttarārdha (adhy. 21.1 ff.). In the end, there are again portions of the pūrvārdha (adhy. 8.3 ff.). The following folios are extant:
pūrvārdha : fols. 30–36; 38–39; 41–50; 57 (end of the MS); 111; 201–203; 205–223; 225–230 (beginning of the MS)
uttarārdha : 1–5; 7–16; 18–31.
Fols. 111; 201–226 are damaged in the left-hand margin. The scribe has the peculiar way of writing anusvāra (ṁ) as a circle with a dot in the centre, similar in appearance to the letter tha in the Brāhmī script.
