Manuscript Features
This MS consists really of three MSS, i.e. of the sūtrapāṭha and the uṇādisūtra of the Cāndra system of grammar, written in the Newārī script by probably the same hand, and a fragment written in Maithilī, concerned with some tāntric (śākta) ritualistic formulas.
Exposure 3 shows a cover-leaf with some notes on the first and second MS, i.e. the sūtrapāṭha and the uṇādisūtras of the Cāndra system of grammar.
Exp. 4 shows another painted cover-leaf.
Exps. 5–8 show some fragmentary fols. in various hands and scripts containing maṅgalas, verses etc.
pacati odanaṃ sūpakāraḥ | anuktavyāpya uktakarttā ||
anuktakarttā u(3)ktavyāpyaḥ | pacyate māṃsaḥ sūpakāreṇa || (fol. 56v2–3)
The term vyāpya (which is equivalent to karma, i.e. logical object, in pāṇineyan terminology) indicates that this portion belongs to the Cāndra system as well.
Exps. 55 and 56, again, show only fragments.
Exps. 57–62 contain the uṇādisūtras, of which fols. 3–7 are damaged, some three to seven akṣaras per line being lost. The writing on fol. 2v is partly rubbed off.
Exps. 63-66 show three fols. (22r–24v) containing some tāntric formulas concerned with ritualistic offerings, mostly directed to Durgā or other aspects of the Goddess.
Exp. 67 shows another painted cover-leaf.
