Manuscript Features
This MS comprises a sub-commentary on Puruṣottamadeva's Bhāṣāvṛtti on Pāṇini's Aṣṭādhyāyī. The text has been styled both Bhāṣāvṛttipañjikā and Bhāṣāvṛttivivaraṇa-pañjikā in the sub-colophons. It sticks to the order of the pāṇineyan Sūtras, leaving out, however, all those Sūtras concerned with vedic formations and accents.
The following portions of the text are extant: Adhyāya 1 and 2; 3.1.1.–11; 3.4.1–90. Thus, part of Adhyāya 3 and the complete Adhyāyas 4 to 8 are missing. However, the original MS might have consisted only of Adhyāyas 1 to 3.
Compared with the edition consulted (vide bibliography), this MS is in many places more comprehensive, sometimes commenting on Sūtras not commented upon in the edition (e.g. 1.3.28–32).
