Manuscript Features
This MS gives a portion of the Prakriyākaumudī, Rāmacandra's commentary on Pāṇini's Aṣṭādhyāyī. The material of the Aṣṭādhyāyī is, according to the so-called prakriyā method of grammar, rearranged topicwise. Fol. 1v starts with an introductory verse, after which the pratyāhārasūtra-s are enumerated. After that, a verse from Viṭṭhala's sub-commentary called Prasāda, is inserted.
The MS concludes on fol. 121v at the end of the subanta portion of the grammar.
Fol. 1 is slightly damaged, some 15 akṣaras being thus lost.
Exposure 124 shows a cover-leaf, on the recto of which some notes concerning the pratyāhāra-sūtra-s have been made. Exp. 125 is another cover-leaf classifying the MS as prakriyākaumudīsubanta.
A short description of this MS is available in BSP, vol. VI, p. 39, no. 130. The date of the colophon, however, has been given as lakṣmaṇa saṃvat 558. The MS is also mentioned in Śāstrī 1905, p. 31 (sub 1076 ña). Śāstrī as well gives lakṣmaṇa saṃvat 558 instead of 568, as the MS actually reads.
